This week, I am joined by listener-favorite Vanessa G of Girls-Gone-Geek.com, as we take a welcome departure from the usual show topics to discuss all things Dragon*Con and take an entertaining, informative & insightful romp through geek culture, comic books, cosplay and her experience at the Atlanta conference.

This week’s show is specifically geared towards geeks, as Vanessa recounts the goings-on at a comics conference, including: Half-naked superhero body paint, the continued allure of Carrie Fisher, (alleged) nerd orgies, the panel she attended with Felicia Day, her ‘True Blood’ obsession gone wrong and being called a ‘hooker’ by a favorite actor from the series.

If you ever wanted an inside view of the comics world and the conferences that fans attend, this is the perfect segment for you!

Lastly, we round out the discussion with some politics (this is still Stimulated Boredom) and a remembrance of the 10th anniversary of 9/11, as both Vanessa and I recount the stories of where we were when we heard the news of the attacks and the subsequent shift in this country for the last decade.

I hope that you enjoy this lively discussion as much as we enjoyed recording it…and, as always, enjoy the show!

Added Show Note: The musical artist featured at the end of the show is a talented local Orlando band by the name of “A Brilliant Lie“, who will be guests on the program in the very near future. The name of the song is, “Live While Sleeping” and I encourage you to check out their site and give their jams a listen. :)
